Geometry is located at 827 Broughton Street, right between the YMCA and the Royal Theatre. We are across the street from the Discovery Coffee on Blanshard and Broughton streets. We are at the crossroads of Downtown Victoria, Fairfield, James Bay, and Harris Green. There is a bike rack located directly in front of our clinic. As we are in a heritage building, we apologize that we aren’t currently accessible to patients not able to navigate a small flight of stairs with assistance. See our contact page for details and map.
Yes, please note there are stairs leading to the treatment rooms throughout our clinic. On the first floor there are four steps downward, leading from the lobby to the treatment rooms. For our second floor, there is one flight of stairs leading upward to the treatment rooms. Our apologies for this accessibility limitation. Please call us if you have questions, or for recommendations of clinics nearby that would be wheelchair accessible.
Geometry doesn’t currently have reserved parking, but there is plenty of street parking along Broughton, Blanshard, and Quadra Streets, as well as a few parking lots located within very short walking distance of the clinic. One is located under the Victoria Public Library and the other is located beside the Royal Theatre at the intersection of Courtney and Blanshard Streets.
You will receive an email inviting you to fill out an intake form prior to your appointment at Geometry. This will allow you to fill out your health history, contact information, and any relevant health insurance information in the comfort of your own home. Provided you have completed these, you need only show up to the clinic a few minutes prior to your appointment. If you would prefer to fill these forms out at the clinic, please arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to your appointment.
Typically, on the first visit, a practitioner will asses you to get a good understanding of how best to tailor a treatment plan to your needs. This typically takes no longer than 10 mins, and is included in your appointment time.
This is largely up to you, the patient. While most modalities rely on skin-to-skin contact to be effective, you are ultimately in control of the treatment and our practitioners will accommodate you. All treatments are done using appropriate draping techniques, and your privacy will be respected. For physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, and kinesiology, it is ideal to wear loose-fitting clothing or activewear.
For you to get the best out of your treatment, and to avoid disturbing your fellow patients, please remember to put your phone on silent during your treatment. Reception has chargers for most phones – if you’d like them to charge your phone for you during your treatment, just let them know when you check in.
Our clinic is open every day of the week: Monday-Friday 7:00 am-8:45 pm, Saturdays 8:00 am-2:00 pm, Sundays 10:00 am-4:00 pm. Please note we sometimes close on the first Sunday of the month for maintenance, and some practitioners work outside of these posted hours. If your appointment time is outside of the regular hours (for example, 3:00 pm on a Saturday) please wait outside the front door and your practitioner will come find you at the time of your appointment.
The amount you pay depends on your provider and deductible and benefits: portals are much like a credit card terminal, and we cannot see how much of your annual amounts are available.
There are many variables at play: we cannot guarantee that we can direct bill for every treatment. For example, sometimes the insurance provider will select your claim for manual processing where they won’t determine a coverage amount upfront and will later issue the payment to you instead of to the clinic. Rest assured we will do our absolute best to make direct billing as streamlined as possible for you.
Many insurance providers don’t allow for direct billing to the secondary plan through the clinic (called “co-ordination of benefits”). Generally you would submit the receipt we provide you to your secondary benefits provider for consideration and reimbursement.
Like most clinics, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice will result in a fee. Please reach out to us as soon as you know you can’t make it, as it allows more possibility for the spot to be refilled and avoid a charge.
No-shows, or appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to charges at your practitioner’s discretion.
If you know you’re going to be unavoidably late, do your best to let us know, and then arrive as soon as you can. We would prefer you not to miss your session, so come anyway.
