Geometry was recently awarded the best-registered massage therapy (RMT) in Victoria. We are located at 827 Broughton Street in Victoria, BC, and offer massage therapy seven days a week. See our online booking system for available appointments.
All of our registered massage therapists in Victoria will tailor your massage to your needs and goals. However, each RMT will vary in their treatment style and professional focus. We want you to experience the best massage Victoria offers. We recommend booking treatments with several massage therapists to help you find the best experience possible. An added benefit of booking with more than one RMT is that you will have a backup if your regular massage therapist is fully booked or on vacation. With over 30 massage therapists to choose from, we are confident that you will find an RMT in Victoria that will exceed your expectations.
Before your first visit for RMT in Victoria, we will send you an online intake form to fill out. The form will ask you for some basic health-related information, any insurance you would like billed, as well as the reason for your visit. The intake form will also allow you to indicate how much pressure you enjoy in a massage and any other preferences you may have. We keep all your information confidential. Filling out the intake form in advance helps your therapist deliver the best massage therapy experience possible and maximize your time with an RMT on the treatment table.
Consent is an essential part of massage therapy, and as the patient, you are in control. On your first appointment, your RMT will discuss a treatment plan with you and any potential risks. Your therapist will discuss draping options (coverage with sheets or blankets) and will obtain consent to work on any part of your body. Your therapist will temporarily leave the room to allow you to undress and get onto the table. Therapists can do all massage techniques over clothing or sheets, and the level to which you choose to undress is up to you.
It is important to remember that during a massage, you are in control. You may revoke consent at any time, and it is always important to communicate with your therapist. Too Quiet? Too warm? Too much pressure? We can adjust things to make your experience better. We encourage you to let your therapist know if they are using too much pressure or if you would prefer deeper pressure. An RMT will use your feedback to give you the best massage therapy experience possible.
Registered Massage therapy in Victoria is a therapeutic, hands-on manipulation of the body’s soft tissues by licensed medical professionals called registered massage therapists or RMTs. Massage therapy involves a broad range of manual techniques that are focused primarily on muscles and connective tissues. The majority of these techniques employ a variety of gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction strokes. The goal of these manipulations is to release tension, promote relaxation, and improve circulation.
Most patients use registered massage therapy to treat physical dysfunction or back and muscle pain. However, many people also seek massage therapy with an RMT for relaxation and improved general wellbeing.
The manual therapeutic manipulations in massage therapy can work directly on muscles to physically release tension, restore mobility and equilibrium. These manipulations can also work with the body’s nervous system to promote healing and reduce stress.

All massage treatments at Geometry are provided by our Victoria RMT team, who are registered in the province of British Columbia and meet stringent educational and regulatory requirements. Registered Massage Therapy in Victoria, B.C. is regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of B.C., “CCHPBC.” After graduation, an RMT is required to keep their skills current with continued education.
Massage therapy is well suited to a variety of situations, and almost everyone can benefit from massage. Patients often seek massage therapy to help manage chronic back pain, recover from injuries, or relieve muscle tension caused by stress. However, you do not need to be in acute pain or have a specific physical ailment to benefit from massage therapy. Many people choose to see an RMT because of the calming, relaxing benefits of massage and to help manage stress. Also, massage therapy can improve mental health by work with the body’s nervous system.
“In addition to aiding the healing process of the physical structures in the body, massage therapy will almost always have a positive effect on mental health. This is achieved by reducing the activity of the sympathetic nervous pathways while increasing the firing of parasympathetic nervous activity. This effect alone has a substantial cascading influence over hormones, blood pressure and heart rate, thus attributing relief to chronic stress, anxiety, and even depression.”
Massage therapy is versatile and adaptable, making it suitable for anyone in search of positive health benefits. Sports massage therapy can help athletes recover faster and increase endurance. Additionally, prenatal massage can help pregnant women manage many of the symptoms that accompany pregnancy. These symptoms include back pain, morning sickness, and insomnia. For office workers who spend time hunched over a computer, myofascial trigger point release or deep tissue massage can relieve tension, reduce pain, and improve posture. Swedish and relaxation massages are ideal for anyone who wants to treat themselves and experience the increased relaxation offered by massage.
Our registered massage therapists in Victoria, BC are trained in dozens of different types of massage therapy techniques called modalities. Some modalities such as deep tissue massage and trigger point release are much more physically intense and are often associated with that “hurts so good” feeling. Other modalities such as Bowen therapy, Craniosacral therapy, and gentle relaxation massage are much less intense and invasive.
Here are some of the modalities our Registered Massage Therapists use:

After you book an appointment our system will send you an online intake form to fill out. The amounts covered vary greatly depending on the insurance plan and customary limits that might be in place.
