All Acupuncture services at Geometry are provided by professionals who are registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of B.C. (CCHPBC). As regulated health professionals, our practitioners are required to maintain and advance their knowledge, skills, and training through continuing education programs.
We encourage you to read the bios of individual TCM therapists, or to speak with reception to find a good fit for you.
Your acupuncture session begins with a consultation where the practitioner will ask about your medical history, symptoms, and overall health. They may also examine your tongue, pulse, and other physical indicators to tailor the treatment to your needs.
During the session, you’ll lie comfortably on a treatment table as fine, sterile needles are gently inserted into specific points on your body to stimulate energy flow and promote healing. You might feel a slight pinch or tingling, but the process is generally painless. The needles remain in place for 20-45 minutes, allowing you to relax and rejuvenate.
Your treatment may also include additional therapies such as cupping, tuina (Chinese medical massage), and moxibustion (the warming of specific points with moxa, a dried herb) to enhance the healing process.
The session concludes with the removal of the needles and a brief discussion about post-treatment care and any recommendations for follow-up sessions.
Combining Acupuncture with TCM Herbal Medicine creates a powerful synergy that enhances treatment effectiveness by addressing both symptoms and underlying imbalances, supporting long-term health. This holistic approach addresses multiple health concerns such as stress, gynecological disorders, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, and hormonal imbalances, making it particularly beneficial for both acute and chronic conditions. The herbal medicine provides continuous treatment and support between acupuncture sessions.
Alongside the benefits of acupuncture treatment, an R.Tcm.P can offer you the option of receiving a personalized herbal formula tailored to your unique health needs.
