We created this fun massage infographic to share some important things that our RMTs in Victoria would like you to know. At Geometry we believe that registered massage therapy can be an integral part of anyone’s self-care routine. Whether you are recovering from an injury, looking to manage chronic pain or would just like to relax, here are a few important facts


It’s a common misconception that pain is synonymous with a good massage. This is just not the case. Sometimes the most effective massages work with your nervous system to soothe and help promote healing. While some discomfort may occur depending on the treatment, always communicate to your therapist what levels of pressure and intensity are right for you.


As Massage Therapists, we get to work with bodies of every size shape and gender. No two bodies are the same, and everybody is beautiful. From stretch marks to dry skin or scars from surgery anything you may be self-conscious about should never stop you from getting a massage.


During a massage your body belongs to you. Consent is an important part of massage therapy and your therapist is there to listen to your needs and to respect your boundaries. Communication is key to a successful treatment plan and will enable your therapist to deliver the best massage possible.


How to get the most out of your next massage:

  • Arrive 5 minutes early and give yourself time to relax.
  • Don’t be afraid to tell your therapist what you want.
  • Remember to breathe deeply during your massage.
  • Afterwards drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
